Coming up at Hope
BREATHE RETREAT DAY
Our wonderful Hope Women stopped to ‘Breathe’ last month as we spent a welcome day of retreat together, led by Sharon Garlough Brown, author of the ‘Comfortable Shoes’ series.
Sharon brought powerful biblical wisdom, love and grace throughout the day. She spoke into being rooted and grounded in the love of God, lament, and coming to God with our whole selves, whether weary, tired or joy filled.
Thank you to our wonderful volunteers who served us so well and helped make the day very special indeed.
“For me, the whole day was about running to Jesus, with His invitation...' Come to me'. The reflection times really stood out, isolating yourself and meeting with Jesus and God the Father. We can be sure He is waiting to take the heaviness from us and give us His peace. I read this once, and that is exactly what we need to do: *DWELL* in the presence of God, DON'T just visit. We have to stay there, sit there, pray there, cry there and be quiet there... and wait on the Lord.”
